Candle Safety
To ensure you get the highest quality and safest burn experience from our scented candles, please read through our care instructions before use
The First Burn:
The first burn of a candle is the most important burn. All candle wax has a memory, this means if a candle is not allowed to burn right to the edge of the glass container on its first burn a memory ring will form. Once a candle forms a memory ring, on every subsequent burn, the melted wax pool will only burn to the diameter of the ring. This will result in a ‘tunnel’ down the wick. rather than the candle burning evenly out to the edge of the container and the wick may eventually drown in the wax. This may lead to the candle not staying lit.
In order to prevent this from happening, the first time you light your candle allow it to burn for 3-4 hours, ensuring the wax on the surface of the candle has fully melted out to the edge of the glass container.
Subsequent burns should always allow the wax to melt fully to the sides.
Maintenance of the Wick:
It is important to maintain the candle wick between burns. Before relighting your candle, remove any loose burnt pieces from the top of the wick and ensure there is no debris within the candle. Trim the wick down to 5mm before each burn.
Storing your Candle:
Place the candle lid provided on top of the container when your candle is not in use. This will not only protect the wax from collecting any dust but also ensures the scent does not dull down.
Useful Information:
Candles should not be burnt for longer than 4 hours at any one time and you must allow your candle to cool for at least 2 hours before relighting.
A rooms temperature can greatly affect the way your candle burns, therefore, ensure when lit, your candle is in a well-ventilated room and away from any drafts as this may cause a rapid, uneven burn or even sooting on the vessel. The ideal room temperature should be between 18°C to 25°C.
NEVER LEAVE YOUR CANDLE UNATTENDED
